ITALIAN FEELING COMBINED WITH AMERICAN PASSION

Even as a small boy Ettore was in love with rhythms and drummed where he could, whether on school desks, kitchen tables, on pots or cartons and liked to use the spaghettis or grissinis from his parents’ kitchen as sticks.

As the only son of an Italian family originating from Sardinia, he got his first drum set at the age of eight and with the drums his first rehearsal room. From that time on, Ettore spent every day there, practicing what he had been shown in the Dante-Agostini school. Day after day, week after week, month after month, he fell more and more in love with this instrument, and his passion became bigger and bigger and more and more profound so that it was clear very early on that he had already found his profession.

At the age of 13 he was invited to a TV show “Kinder dieser Welt” with Thomas Ohrner where he was taken unsuspectingly out of the audience and as Germany’s most talented drum student was surprised to live on TV by Udo Lindenberg with whom he then performed live, which made his dream even stronger.

He started to deal with studio productions and drum sounds and developed his drum-sound, which you can hear on any production. His love for music led him relatively quickly into the position of producer, so he recorded many bands and participated in many productions as producer and drummer. He has not lost his love for the stage to this day. He has toured with many artists including Chris de Burgh, George Mccreae, Peter Schilling, Pamela Falcon, the Weathergirls, and many more.

Through a well-known Persian pop duo “Navid & Omid”, Ettore Olla came to the Persian rhythms in 2011 and acted as the opening act for the biggest Persian star Ebi Hamedi. Moved by his passion, his groove, and his musicality, Ebi offered to accompany him on his future tours. At that time, Ettore had no idea who Ebi was and that he would travel the whole world with him. It came as it had to go and so Ettore has been playing with Ebi and his band since 2012 in the biggest halls around the world, such as Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House, World Trade Center Dubai, Eventim Apollo, Barclay Arena Hamburg and Sports Palace Tbilisi just to name a few.

Thanks to his commitment and reliability, Ebi gave him the job of not only drumming but also mixing for the television appearance on BBC and his new album (Lalehzaar). So he not only contributes to Ebi’s sound but also the stage show and stage technology. Ettore’s trademarks are precise grooves and micro timing. Whether as a studio or live drummer, he always finds the right punch and gives every song the real character and stays true to his motto: It is remarkable what you play, but even more important, how you play it.

Through Ebi, Ettore was on stage with great musicians like Mike Cottone “Eagles”, Jacob Scesney “Postmodern Jukebox”, Mona Tavakoli “Jason Mraz” Brandyn Phillips “John Legend”, Doron Dina “Ziggy Marley”, etc. At home in Germany, he is in his studio every day and works as a producer, mix engineer, and produces for advertising, radio, and film.

Ettore is a great admirer of DW and Remo because, for Ettore Olla, it is the fulfillment of his sound, the right punch, the right feeling for the perfect beat. Passion meets passion, the Italian feeling paired with American passion, what worked for Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin back then, works the same way today.

Just feel the world!
